Learn how to create a glow effect around your model in Adobe Photoshop! This tutorial will cover using the Pen Tool to create the path that the glows will follow, then covers using Layer Styles to create Inner and Outer Glows.

Tools used in this tutorial:

The Pen Tool: Ah, the Pen Tool. Photoshop users either love it or hate it. If you're looking to create custom shapes (or selections), you'll want to learn the ins and outs of this tool. Simple clicks will create polygonal shapes (straight edges), while a click/drag will allow you to create curved lines.

Layer Styles: If you're looking to add effects to your layers, you'll likely want to use Layer Styles. Whether it's an outer glow, a few shadows, or a bevel to give it depth, the possibilities are endless!

Layer Masks: If there's an area of your layer that you wish to hide (or bring back), Layer Masks will help you do that. Painting using a black brush will hide portions of the layer, and painting with a white brush will reveal them. Black and white gradients can also be used.
