WRt 302 Pixlr Project. Watch my tutorial as I take you through some of the features of Pixlr. Pixlr is an easy-to-use photo editor app mostly made for desktop but with powerful features. Only kind of previous knowledge is a creative mind!

(please excuse my voice, I have a cold)

We’ll begin the video with the question: What is Pixlr? Pixlr is an easy-to-use photo editor app mostly made for desktop that has powerful features like masking, double exposure and blending. Pixlr is for both artists and everyday people. The app is also used for 3D enthusiasts, video bloggers, interior design junkies and makers of anything and everything hand-made. Although some pros might use it, the only kind of previous knowledge is simple editing ideas. I tried and tried to learn Photoshop for years, even with online tutorials and workshops and I still couldn’t get it. Pixlr is the simplified version, without the intimating features and software. You then have to just know how to save an image to the desktop and upload it through various social media platforms but I think we’re all familiar with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter right? Pixlr stands out from the other image design and editing tool features because it combines the tools of most paint programs with the high-quality features of imaging editing features and programs. It’s free and you don’t even need to download it to your computer. This makes it convenient to edit anything wherever you are.


Right now we’re going to explore the Pixlr tools on pictures from our libraries. Here we have the app open on the internet. Pixlr remediates other editing applications like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign because it's free of cost. You only need an internet connection. You don’t need to purchase any of those softwares to make your pictures look styled and sophisticated. We found pictures from my library and and then saved the image. We then adjusted the brightness and the contrast to our picture. You can adjust the hues, saturation and lightness. Experiment with filters. The vignette filter darkens the edges of the picture making the focus more centralized and prominent. Feel free to play around with the filters and tools like I did. You can always click Undo on the Edit bar and adjust the exposure and brush size on the top toolbar. Explore Pixlr’s capabilities by putting some text on the picture. Scroll through till you see the fonts and colors you want. Then, choose the move tool on the left toolbar to move the text wherever you want. Once you’re happy with how the image looks you can save it.

Pixlr doesn’t have the best exporting capabilities. It requires users to save the image to the hard drive before it can be uploaded. Because Pixlr doesn’t allow you to upload the images straight to the social media websites, it won’t let you edit and upload more than one photo at a time. This filters what and where you’re posting something. The highly skilled photo editing tools are so convenient on the app that is almost encourages you to make you’re photo highly stylized. A highly edited photo would be better suited on somewhere like Instagram rather than Facebook. So in that way again, it filters where you’re posting your pictures. This will definitely be difficult or even prevent the user from sharing their work across social media platforms. Pixlr’s also doesn’t provide a lot of help or tutorials on their website. I had to go to Youtube to learn more about it. This might prohibit someone from utilizing Pixlr’s full potential. This picture isn’t the most stylized image we could probably make on Pixlr since it’s an example but we’re going to upload it to twitter anyway just so you can see how it’s done. And voila! We have our first experience with Pixlr. Let me know what you think.

Now about this video, this is kind of a really simple version of what you can do with this effect, first of all i have given some tips for the people who are doing this effect for the first time that will make it even more simple for you to create this effect. And also links to all of the images that i used in this video are down below, they free so feel free to use them.

Then i will show you how to blend this two images properly and remove the unnecessary parts of the background so that your images look more professional and beautiful, after that there is a part where we will need to get read of the trunk of the tree, i will show a method with the use of the brush so that it every thing looks smooth.

After that i will show you how you can bring back lost details in the image and create a color effect so that it looks a little different then other double exposure effect. Then like every time we will do some color corrections and adjustment to give it some finishing touches.

In this quick tutorial, I'll show you how to retouch an underwater composite image in photoshop.

We start off with some jellyfish, which I modelled in Cinema 4D and rendered in Keyshot.

I'm happy with my jellyfish, but the water isn't exactly convincing yet. Real seawater has a lot of microscopic debris floating around. So the first thing I'm going to do is go to File...Place and add a floating particles image.

So you can follow along, I've included some download links to these as well as the rest of the project files in the description below.

Next we set the blending mode to Overlay and lower the opacity to about ninety percent, so they blend in nicely with the rest of the scene.

This looks great, but if you look closely you'll notice some in-focus particles in front of our foreground jellyfish - which is out of focus. That doesn't seem to make much sense so we add a mask and paint onto it with a soft black brush to hide them.

Next it's time to work on our background gradient. This gradient is already very important to our water effect. But it would be nice to add some turbulence to make it a bit more natural looking. To do this we create a new layer, hold down the Alt or Option key and go to Filter...Render...Clouds. You can see that by holding down the Alt or Option key its created some higher contrast clouds.

Next we change the blending mode to Multiply, and lower the opacity to about twenty percent. However, we don't want this showing everywhere, so we add an inverted mask to it by holding down the Alt or Option key and then clicking the mask button. Then we paint it back in using a white soft brush.

The next thing we're going to do is create the impression of a water surface at the top of our canvas. Create a new layer and go to Filter...Render...Clouds and then go to Filter...Render...Difference Clouds. Change the blending mode to Multiply and lower the opacity to about twenty percent. Then go to Edit...Transform...Distort to stretch it into position at the top of your canvas.

This looks great already but there's a harsh transition at the bottom. We can easily soften this though by adding a mask and then painting along the bottom with a soft black brush.

To add some color we create a Color Balance adjustment layer. We clip it to our water surface layer by holding down the Alt or Option key, while hovering over the boundary between the two, and then, when the icon changes, clicking. Then we use the adjustment layer to ramp up the Cyan in the midtones.

Now lets add some light streaks, coming down from the water surface. We create a new layer and then go to Filter...Render...Clouds while holding down the Alt or Option key. Then we go to Filter...Blur...Radial Blur. Select Zoom as our blur method, quality to Best and turn the amount up to one hundred. We also drag the blur center to the top right third of the viewfinder.

After hitting OK we go to Image...Auto Contrast. Then we change the blending mode to Luminosity and lower the opacity to twenty percent. Next we add a mask and use a black soft brush to hide any light streaks lower down in the water and in front of our jellyfish.

Finally, we create a new layer and then find the default gradient called Spectrum. We set it to Radial and then drag it from the source of our light rays all the way out to the bottom left hand corner. Then we change the blending mode to Overlay and set the opacity to about five percent. This layer just adds a small amount of refractive color variation throughout the water.

I'm really pleased with how this has worked out. We've made our underwater scene look a lot more realistic, with just a few simple tweaks in Photoshop.

In this photoshop comic book effect tutorial i will show you how you can transform any regular photograph into a comic book cartoon. This video can also be followed by beginners too !!

First of all the image selection: if you are new to photoshop or doing the comic book effect for the first time i will suggest you to select an image with simple white background, that will make it easy for you to follow this tutorial, then i will advise you to go for complex images.

In the starting we will work by using smart objects, so that you can modify the applied filters anytime you want, even after saving the file and if you don't have latest version of photoshop then you can still follow it but then you will not have the ability to change the filters once they are applied ( try using ctrl +z in those situations ).

Then i will show you a cool way to create half tone pattern that you will find in almost every comic book cartoon effect, and instead of just blending the pattern i will show a trick that mix it even better with highlights and shadows.

After that you will learn how to create a texture inside photoshop from nothing, and how to use that texture to make comic book effect even more amazing. And then like we do in almost every video i will show you how to do color grading and do some adjustment to finalize the effect.
